Girlfriend Giftbaskets Gives Back!

Sense of Community is very important to us at Girlfriend Giftbaskets.

We have partnered with  in creating a product to serve families of special needs kids with the proceeds from the sales of our Adopt A Family Basket donated back to the foundation.

The EHL Fragile X Foundation, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) foundation started in March 2017 by Steve and Fran Marsino of Cape Coral, FL. after their grandson Ethan was diagnosed with Fragile X Syndrome.

Their hope was to create a platform to inform and educate families about Fragile X syndrome and its associated disorders, to support families going through the uncertainty of a Fragile X diagnosis, to foster understanding and inclusion in the community, and to support research for a cure for Fragile X.

What is Fragile X Syndrome?

Genetic Condition

Fragile X Syndrome is a genetic condition that causes intellectual disability, behavioral and learning challenges, and various physical characteristics. Though Fragile X Syndrome occurs in both genders, males are more frequently affected than females, and generally with greater severity. Life expectancy is not affected in people with Fragile X Syndrome because there are usually no life-threatening health concerns associated with the condition.

Treatment

While there is currently no cure for Fragile X Syndrome, there are many areas of treatment and intervention that can improve the lives of affected individuals and their families. Given the proper education, therapy, and support, all persons with Fragile X Syndrome can make progress.

The Adopt A Family Basket is custom-made to meet the varied needs of families with special needs kids. Its contents provide relief from stress and anxiety and lend comfort to both parents/caretakers and children alike.

Not only does the basket go to a special family, the proceeds from all of the sales go back to EHL Fragile X Foundation, Inc.
